Bausch + Lomb has introduced the Ultra Multifocal for Astigmatism contact lens, the first and only multifocal toric lens available as a standard offering in the eyecare professional’s fit set. The new monthly silicone hydrogel lens was specifically designed to address the lifestyle and vision needs of patients with both astigmatism and presbyopia.
The new Bausch + Lomb Ultra Multifocal for Astigmatism contact lens was specifically designed to address the lifestyle and vision needs of patients with both astigmatism and presbyopia (a group estimated to be as large as 32 million people in the United States). The new lens combines B+L’s unique 3-Zone Progressive multifocal design with the stability of its OpticAlign toric design to provide ECPs and their patients an advanced contact lens technology that offers the convenience of same-day fitting during the initial lens exam.
“Bausch + Lomb Ultra Multifocal for Astigmatism contact lenses are the culmination of our innovative multifocal and toric contact lens designs and a direct result of the feedback from providers who have been wanting a new contact lens option for their patients with astigmatism and presbyopia – patients who have been previously challenged due to a lack of convenient lens options,” vice president and general manager, U.S. Vision Care, John Ferris said. “We are proud to be the first contact lens company to create a solution to this significant unmet need with the first soft multifocal toric lens available in a broad range of parameters with a straightforward fitting guide, which can be readily fit in the eyecare professional’s office.”?
